What You SHould Know About Rosacea
What it is: A skin disorder that causes frequent flushing in the center of the face in response to drinking alcohol or eating spicy foods, or during emotional stress or exercise.
Why it's not necessarily serious: Rosacea is easily treatable with topical remedies or anti-inflammatory drugs (such as tetracycline) in low doses. There's no known cure so you don't have to take the medicine for the rest of your life. Some people can take just 1-3 pills a month and be fine.
When to worry: If symptoms are left untreated, the redness can become permanent or cause scarring.
