Watch out for these signs when you feel or see them. While some symptoms aren't worth worrying about, in these cases you should get checked out-stat!
- Chest discomfort or tightness. This classic heart-attack sign requires an immediate visit to your doctor or the emergency room.
- Unusual Bleeding. Any blood that's coming from an unusual location-the rectum, urine, coughed up from the lungs-could be sign of a serious condition.
- Slurred speech or sudden vision problems. These are common signs of a stroke.
- Severe headaches. Debilitating headaches that last longer than a few days could have a dangerous underlying cause.
- Diarrhea that lasts more than 5 days or a fever above 101F. Seek treatment to rule out a possible serious case of food poisoning.
