Our Swing!

Since the repainting of our backporch was done, we thought of getting a swing just to have some place to sit while relaxing during summer. We finally got the hang of it and we enjoyed sitting on it. At least most of the summer days.

It pays to get a "swing" once in a while, and we got so many swinging lullabyes in here last summer. This year's summer is fast approaching, and I am always looking forward to doing it again...of course with husband on the side would always be the best :)

Purse "Addict"

At least that is how my hubby is describing me :) But I keep insisting I am just a plain purse collector. lol!

I don't know why, but everytime we go shop, I always find myself amused with these stuffs and I always end up on the bag section of every department store that has it :) My husband would always exclaim "Oh no,...not again!" and would shake his head. I'm sure he is not mad though. I know his face when he gets upset.

Lately, I have been noticing my purses are running out of place, hehehe...I bought a purse hanger organizer, but since it only can hold 7 purses, I think I overloaded the hanger which is 2:1 ratio. I have to remove some and place it inside my closet. I have to set aside a space for just the purses. My husband would tease me,..if I can use them one design per day? He was noticing most of those that I bought haven't been used since I bought them. Geesh! I should :)

One time my husband was telling me, one of his co-workers were asking; "What is in purses that women are really into these days?"..so happened his wife too are fond of purses. Well, I told my husband...at least am not alone hahaha! Then I told my hsuband to tell him the answer: - that's the essence of bein a woman! LOL!

And oh by the way, I got a cute purse from Disney. The size is small, but don't underestimate it, got multiple interior pockets which is what I am really after to ;)

Expired Goods

I did my pantry updating...cleaning, rearranging, etc...the other day, and I've noticed the pantry is as crowded as it can be. It's almost like the middle shelf is about to give way, and I was a little bit surprised to see that many of the canned goods were already expired! I am not fond of canned goods but it's always a good thing having some reserves from time to time.

Anyway, almost half of the goods expired and I had to throw them away. My mind brought me to a thought about the widespread hunger happening in the world, and here we are...having some expired food untouched on our pantries.

Photobucket

I had noticed that the expired ones were those my hubby bought when I was still in the Philippines. He used to eat canned goods while he was alone, and when he didn't want to cook for himself. I told him about that and showed him the cans. Gosh, he said he forgot those lol! Well, that's my husband! He would buy things he needs and the next day, he forgets he bought something like that, and ending up buying same thing again.

I have to just put those things he bought to a place where he can see them. Placing them inside a pantry, cabinet, drawer or a closet doesn't work folks. :)

I Still Know What We Did Last Summer :)

Sounds like a movie? Nah...it's not your movie sequel lol! This was suppose to be posted a little while back summer of last year, but with the hectic schedules of our travels, I wasn't able to get the chance to sit and blog about it. Anyway, I am taking this opportunity to share this before we go off again for travel next month.

It took us at least more than a week working on our deck (backporch) last summer. It was tough particularly to my husband, but was fully rewarding at the end. Our deck was so old and haven't been scraped and repainted since hubby moved in the house 3 years ago. At first hubby planned of hiring somebody to do it, but that would cost a lot of money. I suggested why not do it ourselves, work during wekends, since it's not a rush. He agreed, and so the labor started. We went to home depot, got some cleansers, and paint. The assistant at the store was of good help to us, and he gave us 3 types of liquids to be applied one at a time, step by step.

This is our old deck. Hubby and his sprayer are ready for the job! Go, go go hubby!!!!

Photobucket

After doing step #1, the deck went whiter a little bit. We did applied the cleanser to melt down molds and some old paints on it.

Photobucket

Well, actually this is a combination of step #'s 1 & 2. The last and final step was the hardest one to do since we had to manually paint the whole deck. We got a paint sprayer available but it is intended for painting inside the house.

Photobucket
Tadaaaan...that's me. I got sunburns on top of my nose, got my fave blue shirt and shorts stained, and a lot more sunburns...:(

Photobucket
Gosh, hubby got the worst messy shirt and shorts I've ever seen. Until now, I can't really remove the stains even with the help of our toughest stain remover.

And ladies, and gentlemen...here's the rewarding part. To see our deck comes alive. This was through our own efforts. Now, that was really rewarding seeing the outcome of our labor, yehey! :)

Christmas Ornaments Down To Keep

This is a bit of delayed post, but anyway, I finally had laid down my holiday decors and ornaments for safekeeping. I did it all in the day of January 6th. I wasn't sure if I should have done that earlier, but our neighbors seemed they still had their christmas lights on til second week of January.

But that's not a big issue then :)

My Bug Zapper

This is not a tennis racket...lol! It's my bug zapper which helps me a lot when some flying bugs go in my kitchen (and other parts of the house as well!). This is an amazing "friend"-handheld bug zapper with 2 button safety switch and is operated by 2AA batteries. Performance wise, it's excellent!

The only thing tough for me doing it is to catch the fly! lol...I sometimes would spend some hours chasing the fly (if the fly is really sleeky!) that's so annoying! Chasing a sleeky bug all around the house is dead tiring. But it's worth it when you catch the bug dead and burned on the spot.

One thing to be aware of though, is this should be used cautiously when kids are around. It's electrically activated once you press those two buttons, and touching the net is a big NO, NO! So...long way to go for my bug zapper...it's my angel! :))

Got So Sick!

It was unpleasant...I got a somewhat kind of stiff neck the other day. I couldn't move much and it got worse during the night. I got a headache, and it was becoming worse when I was feeling that the pain is going around my neck and couldn't swallow. I got panicky and I was crying. I hold on to my hubby tight and said pls don't leave me! Then he accompanied me downstairs to take ibuprofen to ease the pain. We went to bed together and I kept on telling my hubby not to go off bed. I told him if I would feel worse until early morning the next day, I certainly would have to not let him go to work.
He prayed for me...we prayed together. I was still crying!

I woke up from time to time at the middle of the night while hubby was sleeping so soundly! I felt better, and pain seems to be going away. Oh, thank God! You heard my/our prayers. Hubby went to work, I am feeling better today.

Now, I am having my day off from household chores :) Time to get further rest. I don't know if I was overworked, but I guess partly yes.

Now, I feel so thankful to my one and only God up above, He is hearing our prayers, my prayers...I can still feel, malakas pa rin ako sa kanya :)

Thank you Lord Jesus!
