Hubby was suppose to be in the ballgame today, but since his cousin can't make it, they just cancelled it. I am not fond of watching baseball, so I had just thought of staying at home. But when hubby knew they aren't going to the ballgame, I suggested if we can go shop for his stuffs for his coming birthday...so he agreed. So, the trip going there was worth it...he got his stuffs, and I got mine...we both love it and so that's nice LOL!

I got this strange headache at the back of my head today and it moved on top! I know it wasn't the regular migraine that I do sometimes have, so I took my blood pressure today. It registered 119/91 on the scale. I still am not sure if this rate is my regular rate, but I thought of monitoring my BP every day so I would know my regular BP rate. Thank God!...I am done with my fingerprinting today. My appointment time is suppose to be at 2pm. We got there around 1:30pm. To my surprise, there were only 3 people there waiting. The receptionist gave me a form to fill up, and a number. I got 791, and they were serving 788...at 1:40pm, I got my turn. By 1:45pm, I am done!!!

I would say this day was just my day...excellent job for USCIS, Baltimore..Thanks guys! :)).

LP Driving License Renewed!

I was able to renew my learner's permit yesterday, July 19 (Saturday). I had to go through same routinary procedures like the first time I applied one. I had to take knowledge test again, submit same documents...etc.. Good thing I passed the knowledge test. I haven't even been studying my driving skills and knowledge for more than a year since I got my learner's permit. I struggled hard to give time for my behind the wheel lessons, as much as hubby did, but we had a hard time for it because of the travelling schedules we have.

I feel I don't have the urgent need to get the driving license, but it's a good thing to have for identification purposes, particularly that we travel. My green card is expiring next month, and it would perhaps take a year for the processing before I can receive the new one. I guess I still have to struggle to work on the driving lessons to get the provisional driver's license. If not...I just have to get a state ID. Now, at least I have some options if things don't go the way it is :).

I woke up very late couple of days ago and I forgot that hubby wasn't going out for work that day. He told me he had to do conference calls at home and so I forgot all about it because he wasn't on bed when I woke up. I was thinking he was at work. When I was checking the mails, I saw him came out from the basement and he said he was hungry! Gosh! I got so surprised to see him and I immedately remembered he wasn't working. So got freakingly in panic and had to prepare his breakfast. He offered help so I willingly allowed him to cook the bacon, while I was cooking his eggs and toasting his bread. Well, this was what happened to the beacon! LOL! Poor bacon. But hubby ate his part...didn't eat mine as they are bitter hehehe...
Just a note: Never leave your hubby in the kitchen, not unless he's an experienced cook! :).

Stranded at Buffalo-Niagara Airport

We were only suppose to have an hour flight going back home via southwest last Sunday. We were at the airport 2 hours early, but 15 minutes before the flight, an announcement came...flight will be delayed for another hour. That was just fine with us, but the next announcement came extending for another hour...and so on. We started to became curious what's happening and they said that there has been some strong thunderstorms between New York and Baltimore. It was a tough long wait and we ended up waiting for almost 9 hours in the airport. Every flight was delayed and so boarding gates were swarmed by many passengers. Good thing I have been sitting on the lounge for 8 hours and not moving. At least we got a nicer spot to relax while waiting :).
We can't blame any airline for this. It's just that it's due to weather and we don't have control for that. Airlines would never risk many lives to go fly the skies with thunderstorms! Now, that is a safe and smart move! Only the long wait sucks!
Whew!...thank God, we arrived safely back home almost midnight.

Hertz at Buffalo-Niagara Airport ?...FORGET IT!

My husband has been a loyal member of the Hertz rent a car service, and has been a Gold member for many years. I am a living witness for Hertz consistent service ever since I started travelling with my hubby here in the US. He would request for one and he would be given the best car (if not a brand new one.)

Anyway, hubby requested a car pick up at Buffalo-Niagara Airport in New York last July 19. The regular request is a small car with GPS system, which in his confirmation email sent to him was all set to be complied.

Arriving at Hertz to pick up our car, we noticed that it was a big SUV car with no GPS. We went back to the desk and told them we requested a smaller regular car with GPS and the lady said ALL of their cars have no GPS system. Who doesn't get upset? He talked to a Hertz agent on the phone backed up by the confirmed email he received telling us that they have what we requested. After 25 minutes of whining, a BRAND NEW MUSTANG was given to us (without GPS) with only 4 miles on it. Well, if you're a car lover, you would love it! It's a head turner!...but getting lost in the middle of nowhere and driving a brand new mustang?? I consider it useless! We had to ask the lady the address of our hotel through the map, and so in there she wrote the directions. "Go East , follow west" is not my cup of tea...and hubby neither :(.

God was so good, we reached the hotel for 20 minutes. But the effort of figuring out where to go is a big joke!

The next morning, I told hubby to get rid of that mustang and switch it with a car that is GPS equipped. I don't care if it's an old car as long as there is a navigator on it. He tried to call the Hertz airport office and I heard a very heavy argument...agh! hubby was arguing with someone. This time, hubby was so upset until finally, he was able to get the number of a local Hertz office close to our hotel. We were wondering why they kept messing up our request and didn't even bother to tell us there's one close by us not until hubby asked them.

Laura, the lady manager at the local office said they have KIA with GPS. In a snap we told her to reserve it for us. She was excited to get the mustang!...so we were guaranteed. :). We told her our plight and she said her office is not like that. We agreed, she was very helpful. Besides, we have been to many Hertz branches and they were all good...except the one in Buffalo.

So, if you happen to be going to Buffalo and planning to rent a car, forget about Hertz...(not unless you know where you're going without the GPS). You'll be ruining your day!

Hubby Hates Fish Sauce!

Since I started purchasing things online, I get a lot of shopping catalogues from the mail. Received My Biometrics Schedule Today!

I am so happy today! I got the letter I have been waiting for from USCIS for my biometrics schedule (fingerprinting). I am scheduled in July 23 at 2pm. Thank God! Actually, I was starting to get worried because it has been more than 3 weeks since I received only a letter from them that my 2-year green card is extended for a year. I was expecting a letter (NOA1) for my fingerprint schedule at least for a week after the first letter saying GC is exended. Hubby called the USCIS last week, and the officer said I have to call them and schedule an appointment? That sounds nonsense to me because the letter and instructions said I have to WAIT for the biometric schedule. Why should I be asking for a schedule? That made me crazy!
Anyway, I was praying for this, and so it came today! Thank you very,very much Lord. :).

Caught in the Act!

I still remember I posted in one of my blogs about how hubby would silently creep out of bed and grabs the camera just to take photos of me sleeping. I actually had many photos of it with different poses while I am sleeping. Again...he caught me in the act LOL!
I don't understand why, but as you notice, I am sleeping on the wrong side of the bed. I don't know how hubby really manages to sleep without waking me up and tell me I'm on the wrong spot, hahaha! He told me he doesn't wanna disturb me...hhmmm, I'm a little bit doubting on that!..he didn't wanna wake me up because he wants to take photos of me sleeping in a crazy position. :)).

Geesh...good thing, my face wasn't exposed...or else, the world would just see me drooling while asleep! :).
