Improving Your Indoor Quality At Home

When the weather puts a damper on your open window policy, a lack of ventilation may increase levels of toxic chemicals often used to make household materials.
You can clear the air by taking in plants which can absorb airborne chemicals through tiny openings in their leaves and break them down. Ideal plants to get are pot mums, gerbera daisies, bamboo, peace lilies, Chinese evergreen, corn plant, golden pathos, English Ivy, Janet Craig, marginata and warneckli.

How To Make Your Lipstick Lasts Longer

Don't make your lipstick run out again that fast! You know, sometimes your brand new shade can as well be difficult to find. So, before you smooth your lipstick on, line and fill your lips with a nude pencil. Its waxy consistency better adheres to our naturally moist lips. Applying a pencil first also creates more matte surface that a creamy lipstick can hold on longer which means you will spend less time reapplying throughout the day.

Showing love with a homemade Valentine's Day craft

Guest post written by Zach Adams

My kids are at the age when they think that they have to help me with everything. I'm not exactly looking forward to them growing out of it, but it can be a little overwhelming to get help with every single little thing! They were determined to help me make something for their mom for Valentine's Day, so I decided to let them.

But I had been planning to buy something for her, so I had to do research on a good craft to make. When I was online looking that up, I ran across some info on debt counseling and decided to bookmark it for later. Our family has been having some financial issues so I think we're going to talk about using that.

I did finally find a homemade Valentines craft that I though would be perfect for us, decorating a picture frame and framing a picture of the kids in it. It wasn't too hard, but we did kind of make a mess with the glue. She loved it when we gave it to her this weekend and already put it on her desk at work.

How To Organize Your Closet

Beautify it like putting some wallpaper or patterned shelf paper or you can paint it with rich paint color. Good lighting is also important; such as a lamp or a small chandelier or even a shade you clip unto a bulb can make your tiny space elegant.

Choose hangers that are skinny, flocked hangers instead of using wood hangers which occupy a lot of space. Pants should be hanged by the cuffs with hangers that have padded clips. Don't keep anything in dry-cleaning bags, which can trap moisture. If you want to protect clothes that you don't wear very often, such as evening dress, store it in a cloth garment bag.

Instead of using shoe organizers that hang off your closet rod, line them up in a separate space. You don't want your shoes come close to your clothes. You should be able to see each pair easily so ditch the boxes and bags. Use tall plastic boot trees to keep boots upright.

Sweaters can skip the hangers as well as clothes with beaded items (the weight of the beads can strain the fabric). Jeans can skip hangers too, if there are no more space. You can fold them once at the knees.

Hang purses on hooks so they can be visible and not crushed. Clutches can be stacked side by side on a shelf too.

Myth vs. Fact Of Osteoporosis

It is always a smart idea to be well informed about it, whether we have it or not. Be sure you know the facts and knowledgeable enough to distinguish between what is not and the fact :). Here are some that might help add to your readings ;).

Myth: Only old people get osteoporosis.
Fact: Regardless of age, ethnicity, anyone can get osteoporosis. Although it is often not diagnosed until after age 50, the disease gets its start years, or evend ecades earlier.

Myth: Someone with thin bones will get fractures.
Fact: Bones don't fracture due to thinness alone. Half of the population with thin bones will never develop fractures.

Myth: Eating lots of cheese and yogurt and drinking milk daily will protect against osteoporosis.
Fact: Osteoporosis is a condition where there is calcium loss, not calcium deficiency. It is also vital to get enough Vitamin D as well as other nutrients, like dietary changes or taking supplements for calcium to be fully absorbed.

Myth: Losing weight can help prevent osteoporosis.
Fact: The National Osteoporosis Foundation recommends that women should eat a balanced diet, exercise and maintain a normal and healthy weight.

Don't Ignore That Back Pain!

Many people today suffer from back pain. Some can only be an ordinary back pain that is due to stress or bad posture and needs a good massage ;). But if you are experiencing a severe back pain, never ignore it. You should see your doctor right away.
In many cases, this can lead to a problem in the spine that may need surgery. And speaking of spine surgery, it's just so scary to think going through it. And to think that most often, this procedure is still done in a traditional way, recovery is much slower.
Are you one of those that is thinking of undergoing a back surgery laser treatment? This is the most recent technology being done nowadays that involves minimally invasive spine surgery techniques. Much lesser stress on the part of the patient, and much more efficient method on the part of the surgeon.

How Long Before Your Candies Expire?

Sweets will lose their flavor and color in due time, though they won't ever truly spoil. Thanks for the generous amounts of sugar in them :). But there are time when to toss these goodies too!

For Chocolates:

Dark and milk chocolates can last for 1-2 years. Wrap them in foil and store in a dry, odor-free place.

For Jellied Candies:

If kept away from heat and light, they will last for 6-9 months if left unwrapped in a candy dish. If wrapped, they are good to last for a year.

For Hard Candies:

They last after a year, unless its an Everlasting Gobstopper :).

For Candy Corn:

It will last up to 9 months in an unopened package, but stray corns only keep for 3-6 months. Store them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

For Gums:

Chewable for 6-9 months. Keep packs in a cool, dry location to prevent the pieces from drying out.

For Caramel:

Keep it covered and away from heat and it will last for 6-9 months. Or freeze it and save for next year.

The Manhattan Saddlery Online

Whether you are a newbie or a professional equestrian that needs gears for your horse riding or clothing and any other equestrian products that fits your purpose, you should be glad that you can now easily access them online.

The Manhattan Saddlery Review online can now be easily accessed through Consorte Marketing being established as a case study through search engine optimization (SEO). I think this is really a smart idea in making the company go through an SEO campaign due to the fact that this is a big help in boosting the company's traffic into the website.

By the way, Manhattan Saddlery has also a store located between the streets of Park and Lexington Avenues in New York. The store was formerly called the Miller's Harness Company.

Looking for Amerigo saddles? Check them out (through the given link). These products are unique in styles and one of the most commonly used and trusted by professional horse riders designed for high endurance and durability and yet offer comfort for the riders.

Manhattan Saddlery Review can also be found in Facebook. It would also be a great help to drop by and share your reviews regarding their store and their products as well ;). Check them out!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

The day started out to be clear today, but surprisingly, it started to drizzle, then snowflakes came dropping! It was so weird because when I checked the weather earlier, it didn't say it would be raining with snowflakes, lol!

Anyway, I was glad we were able to do our itineraries today, visiting 3 stores to buy more stuff for the "balikbayan box" so we could fill the box and send it out tomorrow (hopefully).

We then had an early dinner at Glory Days Grill, just 5 minute-drive from home and their food was good! It was our first time going there. The restaurant was newly-opened late last year, and it was a good news for the neighborhood. We're so glad we loved the food. It would be a nice place to visit regularly ;).

We went back home after our dinner and still snowing, but it was still a good thing that the snow didn't settle on the ground. It was probably because it snowed at a 40F temperature, which means no snow to dig and scrape! Ahhh!!! How I wish winter would be like this until it ends!
