As early as this month, I am already starting to pack things needed for our house in the Philippines. I dispatched one "balikbayan box" already, so it should arrive there before November. Not feeling Well

I still am not feeling good til today. Then, my hubby went home earlier today and he wasn't feeling well too. I am not sure if this is from our trip where we really were tired roaming the park for 2 days under the scorching heat and too much crowd at the park, but I am guessing it's one of the reasons. Hubby said he has a bad stomach since Monday. God, we're praying for healing. It's hard if both of us would get sick. I would just be willing to get sick but not for hubby. It worries me seeing him on bed weak :(.

Dead Tired!

I had fun meeting a classmate-friend at Universal Studios in Orlando yesterday. After 20 years, finally we met! My hubby was with me, so he became our instant cameraman the whole day, lol! The weather soared as high close to the 100'sF, and park was crowded but we didn't mind. We had some rides and the waiting lines are just sooo unbelievable. The longest one was almost 2 hours wait, but we had been talking about our lives right after we graduated and parted ways.
Gosh, it was a long tiring day, but worth it! Right after we arrived at our hotel, I and hubby were flat on bed, lol!

Planning A Castle Wedding?

Actually, you don't need to be in France to have your fairy-tale wedding. You can make your fairy-tale wedding dream come true with just a stateside manor, a sweeping ball gown, and your knight (the groom)...more than enough to complete the vision. Only in the US! :).
But before you proceed with the planning, you should consider some ups and downs. Just in case, be prepared.

Possible complications:

Castle wedding can be drafty in winter and stuffy in summer, so consider renting a heating or cooling system, otherwise, choose a date when average temps are moderate.

Winding staircases, cobblestones and rustic wooden floors add a good ambience but might be hard for elderly or disabled guests to navigate. Mark off easier routes and ask groomsmen to offer assistance.

Assess restroom facilities situation before booking. You might consider getting a luxury-restroom trailer if the facilities don't meet your needs or standards.

Castles tend to be dark so it requires additional and extra lighting and amplified music. Ask if you need to bring in a generator.

Consider hiring buses to take guests to and from their hotels and the venue if it's in a secluded and far area or if roads are dark at night.

Other considerations:
Since you'll be a princess bride, it's ideal to wear a taffeta, satin or tulle gown, or an A-line empire dress paired with jewels such as gemstones or rhinestones.

Consider making the celebration adults-only to preserve the sophistication of the setting.

Make invitations with dramatic effect like one with brocade patterns, tassels and calligraphy.

For the ceremony, make it an elegant mood with music. Consider choosing an opera soloist, a harpist, bagpipe or a string quartet.

For menu, think formal feast. Tacos don't work with turrets. Instead of mulled wine, bring on the champagne!

Lucky and Blessed!

I should say this blog has been blessed and lucky! :). The reason? Paid ops keep coming. As many know, this blog has been earning way back 2008 and went as high as PR 3 by google. Because google hates paid posts, they took back the page rank and went to PR zero. What a bad experience, but nevertheless, there still some paid posts coming from heaven, lol! And I am always thankful for that and for the sponsors and the company who continue to give their trust on this blog. Thank you! You know who you are ;).
Have a safe weekend everyone.

Update on My LP Renewal

It was raining while I was waiting online to go inside the DMV building to renew my learner's permit. I was 15 minutes early and yet the line is already long. Anyway, so, I was so confident that it would run smoothly and they won't give me any test...omg! they sent me to the testing room and I was panicking inside my mind because I wasn't ready. The last time I read the driver's manual was last summer. So, my heart was beating like crazy and what if I can't pass? It means I have to go back again and take the test...ugh! I was seated at PC no. 1..and in less than 15 minutes, I finished the test with a score of 17/20. Just a passing score!!!LOL! Thank God, I did it. And then my new LP is now good for 2 years.

Your best bet against rising tuition is to invest in equities while your kids are still young. Try investing wisely, like investing $130 monthly for 18 years at 6% interest gains you $50,000. Avoid spending your college savings into CD's or money market accounts.

Strive to spend and redeem. You might try registering your credit cards with a program, and as you buy items, earn cash rebates towards your child's college fund. Learn more about this at babymint dot com, littlegrad dot com and upromise dot com.

You can try setting up an automatic savings through a 529 plan, where you can save at least $25 a month. Withdrawals have no federal taxes as long as money is used for college expenses.

The Facts About Lipovox

I am sure many of you are quite familiar about Lipovox, - a diet pill that was once featured on Oprah Winfrey's show. As I would always say, weight loss pills are not created equal. Each has pros and cons when it comes to its ingredients and the way it works to every individual. Today, many people who are relying on weight loss pills to lose weight are still on the dilemma of what to choose. So, before buying this pill, why not try to read further and check the helpful information regarding this drug? Reading customer reviews is always a good practice before buying a certain product as well.

Cooler Ways For Your Wedding Guestbook

In the older days, guest books were only used to compile names, but nowadays, they're mostly used to collect memories. Instead of a book, how about letting your guests autograph any unique memorabilias you have on the surfaces. Just be sure to provide appropriate writing tools like glass pens for glass, fabric pens for fabric, etc...

Examples:
  • river rocks, - to display in a glass bowl.
  • an album filled with photo-booth pictures that was shot during the first hour of the reception.
  • quilt squares, to be made later as a keepsake blanket.
  • a poster-size photo of the reception location, mounted on foam and set on an easel.
  • a chalkboard, to be held up by each guest during individual photo sessions.
  • cards, to be hung from tree branches.
  • any objects that's meaningful for the couple, like a guitar, globe, etc...
  • a long scroll of paper that has been inserted into a typewriter.
  • a video, - guests can leave a message.
Ideal Place to put it:
Put it on a table near the reception site entrance so everyone can write down their good wishes as they come in.

Get your guest's attention by decorating the table with colorful linens, photo frames, flowers, - anything that's eye catching.

If possible, let the bridesmaid carry the guest book from table to table afterward til you've achieved full participation.

Considering a Wedding Rehearsal Dinner?

Whether you're planning for a lavish one, casual or family-focused budget-friendly dinner, the following guidelines will at least help you plan for the night smoothly.

Who pays?: Some old traditional practices say it should be the groom's parents, but anybody willing can do it.

Who should attend?: Anyone at the wedding rehearsal including flower girls, ring bearers, and their parents, plus significant others. Many couples also ask out-of-town guests.

When do we invite them?: Make it at least 2 weeks ahead, and request RSVP's even if most will attend.

Where should we hold it?: Anywhere from backyard to bistro. Be sure it's an easy trip and convenient from the ceremony site.

Party to-do-list:
  1. This is a good time to make speeches and do the toast, which often is the highlight of the evening.
  2. Ask your guests to bring old photos of you for display or request somebody to create a slide show set to music.
  3. Give some gifts to your bridesmaids, groomsmen and parents.
  4. Announce any last minute instructions for the wedding day.
  5. Arrange to finish up early. Hungover bridal party doesn't make pretty wedding photos.
A few crowd-pleasing menu ideas:
  • new england clambake
  • poolside luau
  • tex-mex cantina bash
  • designer pizza party
  • family-style Chinese feast
  • backyard BBQ
  • bistro supper
  • tapas @ wine bar
  • comfort fare @ mom's house

It's very hot today and the sun is shining so strong! Agh! ...the scorching heat of summer. Hearty Dinner!

I am loving my weekends because it is only the time where I tend to enjoy going out and do some activities (and fun as well ) with hubby. So, today, we had a dinner at Cracker Barrel in Frederick, MD. I usually like the "Chicken and Rice" menu during Saturday, so that was what on my plate ;). Ah...I haven't eaten this for a while, so I gulped it all down...plate clean! yey! lol. The sweet tea was great and I had a lot of it too. Rare Coins

Since 1990, every year, the world's demand for silver now exceeds annual production. Before time runs out, where silver bullion are shrinking rapidly and closing to zero, why not consider this time to buy silver bullion?
Buying these rare coins is a good investment product, and are available in coin or ingot form. You won't regret making a decision to go into precious metals investment when you go with United States Gold Bureau, - a trusted gold authority by many investors.
If you are interested, call them up for minute pricing at toll-free number 1-800-775-3504 and make special arrangements for any orders of $50,000 or more to buy at dealer's cost. You might also want to get a price quote before placing your order at the same number. Otherwise, you can as well order or submit your queries online.

LP Renewal

Tomorrow, I have to get up early and leave early for DMV so we can beat the long line if not would be the earliest there. I'm gonna be renewing my LP for the 3rd time! Would you believe it? I just couldn't get a good chance to schedule a road test because hubby works like crazy. Besides, we are only using one car at the moment and mostly at work used by hubby. Although that is the case, I should be up and running again to do my driving. Straight driving is not a problem. I just keep procrastinating going for the road test as well because of parallel parking, lol! Anyway, better yet be ready for any chance after I renew my LP. Let's see!

Tired All Day?

Do you feel tired mostly all day? Try investing some of the following steps to lead you to your sweet dreams of sleep ;).
  • Get with a program. Establish a wind-down routine to ready your body and mind for a good night's sleep. Try taking warm bath at least 10 minutes to half an hour; reading to and kissing your kids good night; listening to calm music; reading brief poetry or scripture; meditating or praying; or doing your yoga poses. Don't do things that aren't restful such as working out.
  • Make your bedtime a meeting you can't miss. Try waking up at the same time everyday, even on weekends. Maintaining a regular schedule will lead to regular bedtime because your body will get tired and force you to bed earlier.
  • Avoid night time worrying. Create a stress-free zone in your bedroom. No phones, pagers, cell phones, TV and laptops in the bedroom.
  • Stick to one catnap. Catching a nap at least once a day for 15-20 minutes can be refreshing and beneficial. Taking long naps could result in sleep inertia. making you groggy. Multiple naps throughout the week maybe sign of sleep deprivation. If you're sleeping and still tired, seek a sleep specialist to diagnose your problem.
  • Keep cool. Sleep in a cooler environment. Although it varies, 65-70 degrees temperature tend to be the most comfortable temperature to sustain a better sleep.

Surprising Sleep Stealers!

You might be surprised about this, but I was as well. According to my reads, here are the facts worth checking;
  • A hot bath - they say warm bath is fine, but keep in mind that your body actually needs to cool down by few degrees before you fall asleep.
  • A glass of chardonnay - It may work temporarily, but after few hours, alcohol can have a stimulating effect and wake you in the middle of the night.
  • A last-minute workout. - Exercise within 2 hours of sleep revs you up and can disrupt your rest. Aim to do it in the morning.
  • An overactive bladder - getting up 2-3 times every night interrupts sleep. Talk to your doctor about medications or surgeries that may help.

I'm an early planner, so today, I started packing for our 3-day Orlando trip next weekend. It's suppose to be an easy preparation, but I got so choosy on what clothes should I bring, lol! I got so many nice outfits to wear that I want to take along, but it's only for 3 days. This is what I love in summer. I tend to get various styles of outfit that I love to wear. Well, I only have to choose 3 outfits so, that my packing is getting a bit slow. Call me crazy, but I tend to play mix and match in front of the mirror, lol! Then at then end of the day, I got exhausted. Whew! More than halfway done ;).

Make Your Photo Stories

Cheers to those who love to collect their photo memories and love to share them. I do love sharing our photos particularly our trip photos with my husband. There are lots of ways to share them, but for me, making a unique, fun, photo slideshow is one of the best. And oh, yes, I do use them. I've tried using Smilebox, and it's kinda cool. The good thing is that you can add your photos and customize them with words, and some music. It keeps you inspired doing more because there are lots of slide show designs you can choose from. Check it out and try it!

How's Your Sushi 101? :)

Take note that sushi etiquettes don't apply to sushi restaurants. They have their own code of conduct. So, if you're a sushi lover, here are the etiquettes you should watch for, or at least you are familiar with.

Thanks, Macy's :)

Today, I received a refund of $4.87 from Macy's :). It wasn't that much, but it's such a great honor and gladness to appreciate the honesty that they still have to issue check for the 4 bucks. I can then add that to my bank savings, lol. I ordered online through Macy's credit card, and it so happened that I overpaid, and they made the adjustment. Good, job, and thank you :).
Anyway, there are lots of nice things to get at Macy's, but I still have some priorities for other finances, so I guess this can wait.
