The other week, I bought chayote at Safeway for our vegetable consumption. My husband and I both love this vegetable so I need to have stocks in the fridge from time to time.
When I reached the counter, the lady was having a hard time figuring out what was that..so she asked me what's the name of that. I told her it's chayote...(I pronounced it as "sayote", lol!). She was shaking her head and she said it's not on the list. So, I volunteered to go back to where I got it and checked the name. It was CHAYOTE SQUASH! Then, I went back and told the lady at the counter..."it's a squash." Then, she typed the squash and said...there you go!, you got it! :)). What a funny fun day! :).
