Body Care Shower Routines

If there's a chalky build up on your shower door or curtain, you have hard water which dries skin. Install a shower filter that removes some of the harsh minerals.

Shower in warm, - not hot water for no more than 10 minutes. Skip the deodorant soap and go with a fragrance-free body wash instead.

Use shaving cream and a razor with 3 or more blades. Shave with upward strokes unless your skin is sensitive-in which case, stroke downward.

Exfoliate with a microbead scrub once or twice a week preferrably with ones made with salt or walnut shells. Go lightly on your chest where skin is sensitive, and skip your legs if you've shaved them.

After toweling your body dry, slather on body lotion while skin is still damp which helps seal in moisture. During winter, use a formula with heavy-duty emollients like glycerin, petrolatum or shea butter. In summer, switch to a lightweight lotion that contains glycolic, alpha hydroxyl or fruit acids which dissolve dead cells. Treat your elbows, knees and heels with cream that contain lactic acid or salycylic acid.

Care For Your Hair

Learn how to make the most of your natural hair by using the right products and techniques. Remember, don't fight your natural hair type.

Fine or Limp Hair:
  • Shampoo with a volumizing formula.
  • Apply a volumizing spray or mousse onto your damp hair, then a heat-protecting spray.
  • Nourish hair with a weekly hot-oil treatment which is lighter than a mask and won't weigh down fine hair. Choose one with proteins, which fatten strands.
Curly or Coarse Hair:
  • Use a shampoo and conditioner with silicone (or any ingredient ending in "cone") and leave conditioner on for 5 minutes. If hair is coarse, shampoo and deep-condition it once a week only.
  • If hair is curly or wavy, rub a dime size drop of anti-frizz cream between your hand and rake through soaking wet hair. For coarse hair, mix a dab of smoothing cream with alcohol-free gel.
  • Apply a deep conditioner that contains keratin to just shampooed hair once a week, and leave for 10 minutes. The conditioner seals the cuticle to keep out moisture (which help prevent frizz), while the keratin strengthens hair to resist damage.

Groom Your Brows

All brows need a little shaping and filling. Some refresher course might help ;).

To find the right shape, hold a white eyeliner pencil vertically against your nostril and use it to mark the point where it intersects with your brow. Then, angle the pencil along the outer corner of your eye; mark the point where the tip meets your brow. Next, mark the bottom of each brow above the outer edge of your iris which will be your arch point.

Draw a curved line to connect the 3 points. Use a slant tweezer and yank the strap below the white line. Begin at the inner part of your brow; switch between brows every few plucks to maintain symmetry.

Wipe off the white lines and check your work; fix any uneven spots.

Define brows with pencil and powder. If you're blonde or a redhead, use a color that's one shade darker than your brows. For brunette, go for a light shade. Draw the pencil along the inside of the top edge of the brow using short flicks, then fill in bare spots.

Apply powder using angled brush, then run a spooly brush through brows to soften it all.

Pat colorless wax on the thickest part of your brow if needed, to keep the hairs in place. If the hairs are thick, try a clear brow gel.

Diet Pill Discounts

It's far more convenient to buy weight loss pills online, the fact that they are more carefully reviewed by customer users and the experts, plus they are far more cheaper compared to those ones being sold in the market today, thus you can even save and get discounts. Most diet pills online stores are not just there to sell and gain money, but they have to make sure that what they sell really works and safe for customers.

Putting The Right Concealer

If you want to cover dark circles on your face, get the creamy formula, - it's less likely to cake on undereye skin, - and a heavier, more opaque formula for hiding pimples and redness.

Choose yellowish color when choosing undereye concealer if your dark circles have blue cast or choose a peachy shade if your circles are brown. Pick an opaque concealer that;s the closest color to your skin tone to cover redness and pimples.

To apply undereye concealer, stand in a natural light, then place several dots from near the inner corner to under the middle of the eye (but don't go to the outer corner). Pat your ring finger to blend them. Apply second layer only if the area still looks dark.

Blend the opaque concealer on redness around nostrils and on any dark spots with your fingertip. To hide a blemish, use a small, pointy brush to dot concealer directly on the zit, then brush in tiny strokes around the base of the pimple to blend. Set concealer with a light dusting of loose translucent powder.

If concealer cakes, dip a cotton swab in eye cream and sweep it over the build up.

Your Glass Tiles Outlet Online

This is just perfect for me to share about using glass mosaic tiles at home. I installed it just above my kitchen sink extending all the way to the end of my kitchen work area. I mentioned this because actually, I and my husband is still busy on the exterior construction of our house in the Philippines. The interior aspect of our home is now fully done. Well, thank God for the beauty of mosaic tiles. I got one, and I would happily recommend it to anyone who are having their home renovations or just building their homes.

Long Trip Back Home

Last Friday, we finally reached our destination...HOME! And it was freezing! Having gone for a while away from home, I spent my vacation in the Philippines for 2 months there, and as it was always, it was warm.
It wasn't easy as I got a bad cold that I got from hubby who got the virus first :(. It was tough since I got sick few days before coming home, so I had to recover fast as I could and I had to go to the doctor just so I can have the right pills to take and to make me well..fast!
Thank God, I felt better, but upon reaching home, hubby got a "pink eye" and his cough came back. He had to go to his doctor for treatment, and right now, it seems I am not feeling well again..argh!
Now, I just don't feel like doing something, and all I want is to rest, sit and lie down. Perhaps, my body just deserves a break from too much work back in the Philippines...{sigh!}

Keeping Foundation & Powder Looking Fresh

First, choose a foundation formula based on your skin type. Oil-free foundation is ideal for oily skin; a creamy formula is for dry skin; and a mineral foundation is best for sensitive or acne-prone skin.

Test foundation in natural light near your jawline. The right color will disappear into skin. Yellow-based shades are more flattering than pink. If you can't find an exact match, buy the two closest shades and mix them in your hand.

If you have oily skin, smooth a pea-size drop of oil-free primer all over your face.

To apply liquid foundation, dot it sparingly along your forehead, nose, chin and across each cheek. Blend the dots with a damp makeup sponge, starting at the center of the face, fanning out. Make sure to smooth it well along your jaw-and hairline.

To make setting powder look natural, apply it only to shiny spots such as your forehead and nose, not all over and use translucent loose powder ( a tinted one can alter the color of your foundation).

Id skin gets shiny during the day, don't add powder. Instead, press with blotting paper.

What's Your hair Damage?

There are some ways to find out whether you should lay off the blow-dryers, curlers, straighteners and dye:

Test the stretch. Pluck a hair from your head, then pull it tightly from one end, and let go. If the hair doesn't spring right back, that's a sign it has lost elasticity and could break if subjected to additional heat or chemicals.

Check your hair brush. A hair that breaks off at the root (you'll see a white bulb at one end) is normal. Hair that cracks midway down the shaft is not! if the damage is extensive, you're losing much more than the average 50-100 hairs a day.

Time yourself. Damaged hair dries faster because it's too porous. Rule of thumb: if your hair is medium to thick and takes less than an hour to air-dry, then it's in trouble.

Check your ends. Are they lighter than the rest of your hair (not because you dyed them that way)? If so, you're seeing the medulla, the inner core of the hair - and the only solution is to trim those ends.
