Week Ender Trip

Yesterday, we went off to Ronks, PA to watch "Miracle of Christmas" at Millenium Theater. It was rainy but warmer (40'sF). I still remember when we went to watch the show "In The Beginning" 2 years ago in the summer, and it was spectacular! It would have been great taking photos but they don't allow photos inside during the show. It is a stage play with a large cast, plus real animals going on and off stage...and they are really behaved :). That was one fun thing to do in the weekend.

Overwhelming Christmas!

This Christmas, I received at least more than 30 gifts!!! more than that I received last year. It's just fun having those. I'm aware the spirit of Christmas is not only receiving and giving material things, but sharing is part of it and it means love :). It's one part of the season that symbolizes the love each of us can share to everybody else. I still feel Christmas is always everyday, 365 days, 24/7, no more no less!
I have so much to be thankful for that God gave me this Christmas...it's countless! But most important of all is I'm thanking God for my family, friends and a loving husband beside me ;).

Winter Storm Effect

Thank God, we finally reached home at around 9:30pm today. It was so cold, and we had a hard time getting our 3 heavy luggages inside the house due to the thick snow. All path ways were thickly covered, so we had to drag them on the snow.
Right after we were settled inside, my husband has to do some shovelling to clear the path ways, since he will be working tomorrow. It was about 1-foot thick...good thing it wasn't sticking. The winter storm hit our place while we were in Illinois. Surprisingly, it was even cooler here (Maryland) than in Chicago that time. While the storm was hitting our place, Chicago was having light flurries which wasn't bad.

Shopping Time!

We had a good time going to the mall with my cousin and did some shopping! :). My husband was with us, so, he was taking care of most of the finances, LOL! There were snow flurries the entire day but not thick. The entire surroundings are blanketed with white flurries. Temperature wise, it got cold during the night, but thank God for my down coat, I was warmly wrapped ;).

Early Christmas Visit With My Family

Tomorrow will be our trip to Illinois to visit my cousins. It would be fun having the chance to spend an early Christmas celebration with them. Since we will only be there for 4 days, we will be back before Christmas day. The time is quite limited, but just by being together and spend some quality bonding time together is still worth it. Tomorrow is another day, I am looking forward to! Illinois, here we come! :).

Yesterday was a busy day...shopping at the mall. The mall was crowded and we didn't wonder why, christmas will be soon and it was on a weekend where the whole family goes together. How time flies so fast! Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and my birthday month have gone. And here come the busiest season of the year...Christmas! Well, the preparations are actually the most challenging part. I usually begin my christmas countdown starting on December 1st. As the countdown is ticking fast, our house is becoming a big mess! LOL! ...and I don't ever wonder why. Family Gathering

It has been raining the whole day today, but it didn't hinder us to attend our cousin's "flag day ceremony" in Arlington, VA. Happy Birthday To Me!

I felt so much blessed today celebrating my birthday. I chose to celebrate it quite simply and quietly with hubby. We went to watch the movie "new moon" afterwhich we had a dinner at Texas Roadhouse. I always love eating my usual dallas filet with my green beans there! I almost wanna pop after my meal. I had a bad struggle going for our grocery shopping after our dinner because I felt my tummy was super heavy and I felt so sleepy! LOL! My hubby was laughing at me seeing my eyes drooping and had a hard time walking...kalokah..hahahaha!
Anyway, I enjoyed my day with my husband. Of course, I didn't forget to thank our Lord up there for giving me another wonderful blessed year. To God Be The Glory!

I Hate Being Sick!

Who doesn't anyway? Everytime I get sick or don't feel well, I feel I am paralyzed and can't even do a single simple chore. I have migraines that get worst at times. Just that can make my day down and will just end up lying in bed the whole day! If I start getting headaches that will be on either side of my head, I could just figure out it's the 3-day headache. It's manageable, but there are times that the pain can't tolerate pain relievers. I mean, it's like it's still there, just numb, and I had to wait until the 3rd day before it goes off. Weird!
So, yesterday, I got the worst one, but it was on the 3rd day! I was feeling horrible, and I just felt nauseated the whole day...I guess it was more than the worst feeling of being in the early stages of pregnancy! Heck! Thank goodness, it was over!

Yesterday, we watched Manny Pacquiao's fight via our pay per view at home. I was a bit nervous watching the actual fight, so I decided to go upstairs and let my husband watch! Of course, I would always cheer for Manny representing my country, the Philippines. He is so far one of the best boxer the world has known, and he's the pride of our country! After the fight I was just so anxious what happened...hubby told me, Manny won...YES! The good thing was that hubby recorded the fight for me so I could watch it...thanks beloved.. love you...mwah!

A Cousin's Visit

Last Wednesday, cousin Tanya (actually my hubby's first cousin) came along to visit us at home. She currently works as a trainee for foreign service officer in D.C., and as a worker from federal government, they got a holiday off! (Veteran's Day), a good reason to spend the time off with us. Hubby got a day off as well, so we had a day of bonding :). Although the day was rainy and much cooler, we had some few minutes going around the historic Sykesville area. It wasn't much to see there, lol! but we found a small boutique where we managed to buy some for ourselves. We then spent a few more minutes having a cup of Victorian tea at Simpli-ci-tea tea shop within the area. That was a good fun memory to cherish with somebody in the family.

Annoying Charges On Our Credit

Two days ago, we have been notified again about a charge on our credi card from DRI Medic, despite our calling to cancel it. It was actually an automatic charge. Actually, I ordered some software online and it turned out it didn't help me at all :(. We called the company to cancel it, they said it was cancelled! We called our credit company, they said it was cancelled and sent us a new card with a new account number. We went crazy when another charge was made on our NEW account considering that we activated it a day ago! My husband got upset why this happened, and plan of just closing the account. My husband was telling the credit company that it must be that the DRI medic has hacked their system? Well, we are still trying to contact the appropriate personnel to handle this case. We already sent our fraud form that our credit company sent us, so hopefully, we can settle this smoothly.

Halloween this year was rainy. We are not really big in celebrating it, but perhaps if we have kids, we might be active lol! It's been 5 years since I came here in the US, but this year was my first experience celebrating the trick or treat. So, it was my first time giving candies to kids around the neighborhood clad in their various customes. I didn't wear any costume though but I don't mind. Our Wedding Anniversary

I admit this is a delayed post of mine, but better late than never, lol! It has been 5 years...how time flies and we survived the 5 years being husband and wife. We knew and we are still clinging on to our vows we said when we got married ;), to love each other forever, as long as we live!
Thank God for 5 years and we are still counting.

Jack O'Lantern

I had a great time watching my hubby carved our first jack o'lantern at home. I was thinking it's a difficult thing to do, but surprisingly, he finished it in just a few minutes...oh ya, I've analyzed it's not that too complicated to do with just carving the triangular eyes and the smiling mouth with some missing teeth! LOL!
We immediately took photos of it...me and the pumpkin plus the lantern with the candle light in it. Cool!

Pumpkin Patch

It was sunny day the whole day today, so we thought of visiting a farm for a pumpkin patch. It was actually my first time to do this :). It was fun! We went for a tractor ride going to the area wherein we passed by a corn maze. I felt it wasn't a corn maze since it was less than 500 feet long lol! I saw a real corn maze in other farm which was really big that many people go there to have fun getting lost! LOL!
Anyway, the whole day was fun, we got two round pumpkins for our jack'o lanterns :). Am excited on how to do the pumpkin carving. Hubby offered to teach me how. Thanks hubby! :)).

N400 Biometrics Done!

Yesterday, I was able to do my fingerprinting at USCIS earlier than my time schedule. There were only a couple of people who were there when I arrived at the office. It was done for 10 minutes! My Missing Package Recovered!

Thank God...God is so good! I finally was able to meet the UPS driver today who delivered the package to the wrong person. He was apologetic, and I said it's okay, we commit mistakes and we will learn from those.

I am feeling bad because it was just handed in to my neighbor next door, and she didn't even say something that the package was not hers! My package has been in her house for a week, and she didn't bother doing something about it...worst thing, she even opened it! I see that unethical and rude and she just doesn't care.

What a heck that she has the gots to open packages that's not hers!

Tracking My Missing UPS Package!

Today, I received a phone call from UPS asking me about the complaint I filed with them regarding my missing package that wasn't delivered to me. The UPS apologized and they promised to help me track and recover it.

On the other hand, we were tired from our trip and I and hubby were both hungry when we arrived home later today. I had to cook dinner fast although still tired, but it's just a tiny sacrifice :).

My Biometrics Schedule Is In!

Today, I received my biometrics schedule for my citizenship application (N-400). Wardrobe Shifting

It's time for cooler outfits once again, and as usual, I need to shift summer clothings to keep and get all the cool outerwears back to the closet. How I wish we could have larger walk-in closet at home. We only have one small walk-in closet but it's all for hubby's work clothes in there. 30-Minute Pasta Primavera

Hey pasta lovers! Try this cooking recipe for your pasta.
Primavera means spring in Italian and Spanish, so ring in the new season with this healthy and delicious dish.

Ingredients:
1 cup broccoli florets
1 cup sliced carrots
1 cup sliced zucchini
1 cup macaroni or rotini pasta
1 tbsp. margarine
1 tbsp. flour
1 cup skim milk
1/4 tsp. dried basil
1/8 tsp.black pepper
2 tbsp. parmesan cheese

Directions:
1. Steam vegetables until crisp-tender and cook macaroni according to package directions.
2. In a small saucepan, melt margarine and blend in flour.
3. Gradually stir in milk and seasonings. (Do not add cheese at this time.)
4. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens.
5. Remove from heat and blend in cheese.
6. Pour over hot vegetables.
7. Add macaroni and mix together.

This yields 2 servings.

Voila! Time to eat!!!

Weather Update!

It went warmer today. While the rest of the days were in the 70's, it went to 80's today. It's actually the perfect temperature for me (not too cold nor too warm).

Here Comes Autumn

Tomorrow will be the first day of autumn or fall season. How I wish I could just stop it for a while and extend summer, lol! But nature is nature and you can't do anything to stop the season from changing. Temperature wise, I should say I am loving summer, but the other seasons....:(.

Backache!

For the past 3 days, I got some backaches due to paper work filings. After digging my immigration documents for my naturalization, I was able to dispatch the requirements for submission yesterday with the help of hubby.
The sight of old paperworks such as photocopies were just so unpleasant for me to see them piled up on my shelf, so that I decided to segregate those ones that are needed and shred those ones with double (and even triple copies)...I had been doing that for 3 days squatting on the floor, and I guess I got the wrong posture :(. I had bad backaches that radiates down to the back of my waist, and I had to ask hubby to massage it with liniment, lol!

Glad to Be Back Home!

After a 4 day visit to Dallas, we finally got home yesterday afternoon. It was a good trip, seeing a long time cousin for more than 20 years, and seeing more friends. Plus, we got the chance to visit some places. The weather was so warm, but I like it, LOL! It's my kind of weather...I think I got more tan this time! :)

Trip Update!

I am almost done with my packing! yey. I just have to put last few items on the luggage before finally getting out of the house. Good thing is that I don't have to wake up so early in the morning because hubby got an afternoon flight for Dallas. Isn't that neat? lol! I can take that advantage better than very early in the morning where I could be grumpy and wouldn't really want to move! Afternoon is my peak day. Thanks beloved!

Night Driving

Yesterday, I finally completed my last 2-hours driving from school. The school car wasn't as good as my car, and I always get that horrible car everytime I get my driving lessons! :(. The school has 2 cars and they have the smaller car that looks like my car that is easier to maneuver. But I only had the chance to use it once.
Anyway, since my instructor's schedule is only available at night, I drove in a dim lit,narrow, busy road in Baltimore city! I even have to pratice my parallel parking in a dim parking lot. Whoa! I only had 3x of that and I had to tell my instructor, I can't see the curb! So, he agreed, lol!
Anyway, it was more challenging driving back home as the car has a poor light and high beam lights of coming cars were all flashing into my eyes. Gosh! Thank God, I still arrived home safe and sound!
One more thing to focus on and I am on to DMV for my road test.

Hubby's Birthday

I surprised my hubby today by giving him his gifts. He wasn't expecting to have one to open when he came home. Thank goodness, he loved the shirts! Safe Trip Back Home

Thank God we arrived safely back home from our Rhode island trip last Monday. All throughout, it was all, pure fun! We thought the weather would be much cooler but it wasn't as we expected. It was close to the 90's around noon times, but the wind was cool so, it helped. We were outdoors most of the time, visiting the lakeside and did the cliff walk which was the most challenging task we ever did. (3.5 walk). We didn't complete the walk, but I was able to visit the 40 steps which has some awesome view of the ocean!

Migraine

I was flat on bed yesterday cause of migraine. It really made my day bad as I just can't move and do something. I was nauseated, and I felt like I just want to lie down and close my eyes. My pill helped but later during the night, I was wide awake! I think that was the pills effect.

LP Extension, Success!

I felt I can breathe more easily since I finished my last session of my driving yesterday. Meanwhile, I had to wake up early this morning to go DMV (with my husband, of course). Super Busy

There are so much more to be done as I am thinking all the things I have to accomplish. My last 2-hour session with my driving school will be on Sunday, and I still have to study (again) for my LP's renewal. Yuck, this will be my 3rd time renewing my learner's since I can't be able to take the driver test from DMV within next week. First, time will be short for me to do it, and second, we will be out of town next week. So, I thought of going to DMV to extend my learner's, that way, I wouldn't be rushing. I can take my time and I just want to be sure I am fully ready once I get the driver's test. Nerve wrecking!

Road Lessons Update!

I still have 2 hours more (1 last session) of my road driving from my school. How I wish I can just turn the clock forward fast to finish all these. Unluckily, I couldn't be able to make it for the actual driver's test to DMV because I lack the time. My learner's permit is about to expire on July 19th. I only had a weekend schedule available which is Sunday, and so the next week after that will be our trip to Rhode Island. Obviously, we will be out of town again,
So, we scheduled just to renew my LP before we go out of town. Hopefully, I can pass again. I hate always taking the written test, but hopefully this will be the last...I need to go on and work continously to get that driver's license!

Back To My Road Lessons

After more than a year of not on the wheel, whether I like it or not, I need to go back with my road lessons and start getting used to it. I don't enjoy driving, but I need to. Well, I really can feel the urgency of driving...it's one aspect of the rat race when you live in the US, lol! But kidding aside, the importance of it makes me realize the essence of it especially when dealing with urgent matters...shopping, grocery, emergency trips to get something for my family while hubby is away and at work.

The only thing good about it is that we don't have any kid, so much so that I can take my time doing one step at a time. It's kinda slow, but it makes me more relaxed doing it that way. I hate tension outbursts, so I think am happy the way things are being done right now.

Learning how to drive is not my cup of tea, but look at me, I am taking it seriously, hehehe...it's the way of living, so do I have any choice? Nah.

Learning How To Fly!

I took a photo of these two tiny birds that tried their wings, perhaps they got so excited to test their flying skills. They came from the bird's nest on our tree at our back yard. Perhaps, it made them so curious when they would always see their mother fly away, and being so curious, they tried flying, but both of them landed on the ground. It seems their wings are still too weak and need more exercise, lol!

I tried to hold them but hubby said no, so their mother would still accept them. It's amazing why when somebody touched a small bird aside from their mother, the mother can sense it and would tend to reject them. I'm not sure if it's true, but if ever, I should leave them that way...hoping those birds would be able to fly sooner :).

Visitors Are Coming

I had been dong a lot of cleaning inthe house that started last week for our coming visitors on Thursday. It's really been a challenge for me to clean a big house (4 rooms, plus a bathroom) upstairs and the whole 1st floor. I had to take one day at a time cleaning one room to the other.

I had my check up the other day and I hate to find out that I developed bronchitis and pharyngitis plus a little bit of colds. My doctor gave me pills and syrups to take. Colds and Cough

It's been 3 days now since I got this bad cough that I got from hubby last weekend :(. I got so paranoid because of the swine flue outbreak, but since hubby already recovered from it, I think it's just like a cough and cold thing...I didn't have any body or joint pains, but I got fever, cough and a bit of runny nose! Blame it on hubby's virus, it's so active, LOL!

Anyway, I was really praying that it is just an ordinary cough and colds. And I am feeling better, thank God. I still have a sore throat and bad cough that makes my chest so tight. Didn't had a good sleep last night as well despite of Nyquil. But I guess I am recovering.

My chores has been stopped for a while. We are having visitors after a week and I need to clean 2 rooms. I hope my full recuperation will be sooner so I can finish the work.

Back to My Chores!

Here I go again...after our 3-weeks trip from the Philippines, I am back to my usual routine at home. Being a housewife, there are so much things to be done, and that includes my regular chores and things to be settled from our trip.

I had been doing laundry for 2 days! LOL! And I just got done yesterday afternoon...whew! But other than that, there are still much things to do. I still have to start ironing some clothes before they have to be kept. I am changing our wardrobes to summer outfits, so thicker clothes have to be stowed.

My blogs have been backlogged...I see lots of paid opps standing by, but I can't just make it through a single day for now. As much as I wanted to get back working online, I felt things are to be prioritized at the moment.

Super Sleepy!

We just got home late tonight from our long trip from the Philippines! It was as usual exhausting and got no sleep most of the time. I'm having fun in the Philippines!

It's such a great feeling to be with my family once again. I am of great joy to see all my siblings together, and having bonding time. My mom was so happy seeing all her kids complete :). As usual, she would become so teary eyed...a tears of joy, that's how she feels.
Well, I should say it's undestandable. There's no reason why she should be crying of sadness. We have been having a lot of outing trips for the whole week for a week now. Tons of photos too for our bonding moments!...how I wish I could extend more of my stay for more than a month.

But on the other side of it, we try to visit Philippines at least once every year, so 3 weeks vacation should be enough.

I think I'm getting more and more excited as our departure for the Philippines is coming sooo close. Our departure time (from home) will be at 3:45Am, way too much early for me and since our flight is at 6:57AM from BWI to San Francisco. Since I am not an early person, and I have to wake up as early as 2AM, I planned to sleep during the midday (right after lunch) a day before to help compensate for the early flight. I guess it's just a matter of a little sacrifice...afterall, it's all worth it seeing my family once again :).

I Feel Exhausted!

Ever since we confirmed the dates for our Phil. trip, everything has been coming up and things to do has been much busier...aahhhh, I need a break I should say, but I couldn't. By the time the day ends, we are both exhaused and just lie on bed sleeping like logs! LOL!

Before our Phil. trip, we still have have short trips (local) coming up, every weekend. We just pray tha we won't be too much exhausted when our long trip comes.

Meanwhile, I still continue to get busy as a bee...daily chores at home plus continous packing...seems this task is endless!!!

Weekend Trip

So far, I consider this month the busiest one both I and hubby ever had this year. So this weekend, I and hubby thought of going to Atlantic City this weekend for a little fun :). I-751 Approved

Thank God, after only 26 days that my case was moved from Vermont to California, my I-751 (Petition to Remove Conditional Resident Status) was finally approved as per USCIS letter that they sent to me via mail last week.
After 8 months of sitting in Vermont, the long awaited approval (which was done in California) has come!...a big relief for me. I still have to wait for my green card (10-years) within 60 days afterwhich I can focus on the next final step...the US citizenship...yippee!

Erratic Climates!

Last week, most of the days were warmer (mid-60's), and I got excited going out. It was like early summer.
