What You Should Know Behind Sun Tanning

Once and for all: There's no such thing as a safe tan! The idea that a base tan prevents you from frying belongs back in the 1980's with shoulder pads. According to Diane Berson, M.D. asst. professor of dermatology at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, she said; "Twenty five years ago, we thought a base tan could offer some protection, but now we know that's not the case. You'll get an SPF 4 at most, which isn't nearly enough to protect yourself from the harmful effects of the sun. Any hint of color is a sign of sun damage."d
