Break The Habit For A Better Body

If you're tempted to smoke, you should know that smoking:
  • More than doubles the risk for heart disease and stroke
  • Causes 87% of deaths from lung cancer
  • Leads to as many as 9 out of 10 deaths from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

The health benefits of quitting can happen quickly. And they only increase over time:

  • Your circulation begins to improve as soon as you quit
  • Breathing becomes easier within months
  • A year after quitting, your risk for stroke, cancer, and lung disease begins to drop
  • After one year, your risk of developing heart disease is cut in half.

This is a healthy reminder from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
