Digital - this is the least expensive method which can be done at home with your PC or by a retailer. It looks best on smooth paper.
Offset - generally more versatile than digital because you can use wider variety of papers. Also flat and affordable.
Thermography - mimics the look of engraving (a popular method) but much cheaper, since letters are created on top of the paper rather than pressed in.
Letterpress - letters are pressed into the paper for a vintage, artisanal look; but expensive.
Engraving - this is a pricey method. A metal plate is incised and inked; transferring it to paper creates raised letters. This is typically reserved for very formal weddings.
