How to Treat Chapped Lips

Our lips do really get chappy in the winter. Choose formula more than just a balm, like petrolatum, shea butter, hyaluronic acid and dimethicone. They are good at restoring mositure.

Use a balm that's viscous, not waxy. If your lips have chronic chapping, look for lip treatment containing ceramides.

Stick with those that have pure ingredients to avoid chapping become worse. Anyone with eczema should choose a balm that does NOT contain lanolin.

Stay away from heavily scented or flavored balms if you are sensitive to allergy.

Use lip balm with alpha hydroxy acid if you want to exfoliate your lips instead of grainy scrub or a washcloth.

Apply balm after brushing teeth or washing face. toothpastes, mouth washes and skin cleansers can be an irritant.
