Tired All Day?

Do you feel tired mostly all day? Try investing some of the following steps to lead you to your sweet dreams of sleep ;).
  • Get with a program. Establish a wind-down routine to ready your body and mind for a good night's sleep. Try taking warm bath at least 10 minutes to half an hour; reading to and kissing your kids good night; listening to calm music; reading brief poetry or scripture; meditating or praying; or doing your yoga poses. Don't do things that aren't restful such as working out.
  • Make your bedtime a meeting you can't miss. Try waking up at the same time everyday, even on weekends. Maintaining a regular schedule will lead to regular bedtime because your body will get tired and force you to bed earlier.
  • Avoid night time worrying. Create a stress-free zone in your bedroom. No phones, pagers, cell phones, TV and laptops in the bedroom.
  • Stick to one catnap. Catching a nap at least once a day for 15-20 minutes can be refreshing and beneficial. Taking long naps could result in sleep inertia. making you groggy. Multiple naps throughout the week maybe sign of sleep deprivation. If you're sleeping and still tired, seek a sleep specialist to diagnose your problem.
  • Keep cool. Sleep in a cooler environment. Although it varies, 65-70 degrees temperature tend to be the most comfortable temperature to sustain a better sleep.
