Simple Ways To Stay Bedbug-Free!

Do you travel often? I do! So it pays a good read about how to be bedbug-free and how I can avoid bringing bedbugs to my home after each trip. I stay in hotels most of the time, so I take it seriously!

First, after each trip, wash everything not only soiled clothes upon arriving home. If you can, take off your clothes in your garage and vacuum out your suitcase before going inside. If you're a frequent flyer, it might be worth considering to invest in the PackTite...it's a portable hollow heater that surrounds an empty suitcase and kills bugs and their eggs.

If you happened to be in an infested place and you carry jackets/coats with you, they are the easiest place for bedbugs to grab hold and go home with you. Never leave it on the couch or bed. Try storing your coats in a large plastic storage bin. Bedbugs can't crawl in or out of smooth surfaces.

Those items that you can't dry such as purses, books or other items can be freezed to kill bedbugs. You can wrap them in plastic and pop it in the freezer for a few hours.

If you live in an infested area such as in an apartment, try covering your mattress and box spring with encasements. They are a bit pricey but worth the peace of your mind :).
