Do Your Kids Have High Cholesterol?

You certainly are sure that monitoring your cholesterol is very important, but your kids might need their checks too.
According to a certain study from West Virginia University in Morgantown, they found out that one third out of 20,000 fifth graders had high levels of blood fats.

Currently, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends these test for kids who have a very strong family history of premature heart disease.
But until then, talk to your doctor about blood tests. Many parents might not consider cholesterol as a serious issue for kids but evidences show that most adult heart diseases start in childhood.

The good news is that kids can be protected by early intervention with diet and exercise.
