Toy Safety Tips For Your Kids

Part of being a mom is to be sure our kids are safe when it comes to playing with their toys. Nowadays, there has been so many toy products that have been recalled in the market due to poisons in them. So mothers should always be on the watch for buying toys that are considered safe for the kids. Here are the tips you might want to take note at home.

Always read the label packaging of the toy product and check and follow the age guidance that is on the label.

Avoid toys with small parts ( or items that can be easily broken off or can be separated into pieces) for kids below 3 and for kids who mouth toys.

Check for toys at the store, by looking for sturdy parts that can stand up to the rigors of your child's play.
Be sure to read instructions for assembly and use. Complete and return warranty cards (which you can use if there is recall issued).

Remove and throw away all packaging from a toy before giving it to your kid or to a small child.

Separate those toys that are too old and potentially unsafe for them and make sure they can't access them.

Supervise the children while they play. Remind caregivers, including nannies and grandparents for play related concerns.

Be cautious when buying toys at flea markets or second hand shops as they may not be monitoring for recalled products.
