Learn how to make the most of your natural hair by using the right products and techniques. Remember, don't fight your natural hair type.
Fine or Limp Hair:
Fine or Limp Hair:
- Shampoo with a volumizing formula.
- Apply a volumizing spray or mousse onto your damp hair, then a heat-protecting spray.
- Nourish hair with a weekly hot-oil treatment which is lighter than a mask and won't weigh down fine hair. Choose one with proteins, which fatten strands.
Curly or Coarse Hair:
- Use a shampoo and conditioner with silicone (or any ingredient ending in "cone") and leave conditioner on for 5 minutes. If hair is coarse, shampoo and deep-condition it once a week only.
- If hair is curly or wavy, rub a dime size drop of anti-frizz cream between your hand and rake through soaking wet hair. For coarse hair, mix a dab of smoothing cream with alcohol-free gel.
- Apply a deep conditioner that contains keratin to just shampooed hair once a week, and leave for 10 minutes. The conditioner seals the cuticle to keep out moisture (which help prevent frizz), while the keratin strengthens hair to resist damage.
