Prevent Falls At Home

Are you or one of your family love one have high risks for falls? Certain health conditions can make you more at risk for falls, such as unstable knee joints due to arthritis or poor vision due to cataracts or other age-related changes.
It's always a good idea to check and review your prescription or OTC medications with your doctor if you have one. Certain drugs such as those for high blood pressure and depression can cause dizziness or light headedness.
Make your home as fall-free as possible. Remove clutter from areas where you walk often and put non-slip mats in the tub and in the shower and next to the toilet.
Make sure that stairways have hand rails or both sides.
Always keep your home well-lit and night-lights on. Also make sure that outside areas such as driveways and front walkways are well-lit, too.
