I Love SauerKraut!

I have been hearing and seeing a lot of this since I came to America, but I didn't analyze it was such an excellent appetizer since I tasted it.
It's a grated cabbage that tastes sour which I thought it was preserved in a vinegar, but I had recently discovered it was preserved with wine??...(but doesn't taste like wine). I can compare it like a grated white raddish or "labanos", a Tagalog term of it which is preserved in vinegar. This is also often used as an appetizer in the Philippines, much tastier when mixed with fresh onions! (I am now drooling, hehehe).
If you are fond of eating sour appetizers, sauerkraut goes well with turkey meat! Oh, and don't forget your mashed potatoes, corn and green beans as well...perfect meal!
